Daniel Wiffen may have surged to two medals on his Olympics debut but his twin brother Nathan was always close by.
Nathan, who missed out on qualification, had helped Daniel train en route to his gold and bronze medal glories in Paris.
Daniel had remarked after his gold medal win that his brother had been calling him 'five times a day' to make sure he was on top of things, having helped push him in the swimming pool prior to the event.
Daniel, who set a new 800m Freestyle record to win gold before adding a bronze in the 1500m, showed he has an elite mentality to go with his athleticism.
The 23-year-old was bullish in his interviews ahead of the Olympics in a way so few Irish athletes historically have been and he vindicated that confidence off the back of his world title success.
Daniel Wiffen makes bold Olympics prediction about brother Nathan
He should return even stronger at the 2028 Olympics and he is expecting his brother to be there in competition with him.
His self-confidence extends to his faith in Nathan's capabilities and he broadcasted as much when speaking at Team Ireland's homecoming in Dublin on Monday.
The next Olympics will take place in Los Angeles in four years' time but Wiffen already has it on his mind if his comments to RTÉ are anything to go by.
I'm sure in LA we'll both be on the podium so I hope everyone looks forward to cheering on the both of us with hopefully a gold and a silver," said told Joanne Cantwell.
"Me obviously on the gold one, he can have the silver! But it wll be a great one in four years time."
Daniel will certainly be in the mix and here is hoping that brother Nathan will be joining him when that event comes around.
His comments were certainly well received by those watching on in attendance for the homecoming in Dublin's City Centre.
Between the Wiffen brothers and bronze medallist Mona McSharry, these certainly are exciting times for Irish swimming having gone without an Olympic medal since 1996 prior to the 2024 event.
