We're indebted to the Sun's Neil O'Riordan who has alerted us to an interview in the Zimbabwean with Mervue United striker Oscar Sibanda where he discusses his ambitions in international football and says he decided against playing for Ireland.

"I have gained a lot of experience since I turned professional and I ready to represent my country. I have refused to play for Ireland because I remain Zimbabwean at heart."

We had no idea that Trap was tracking League of Ireland players. Interestingly, Sibanda, an aslyum seeker who was facing deportation from Mosney back in 2010, once told the Guardian of his desire to wear the green jersey.

"It's funny, but my dream as a footballer when I came here was that one day I might be good enough to play for Ireland. That's why I still wear the kit."
