It's nearly three years that we've been going to the well here at Balls.ie in search of bold and different sports content. Along the way, we realised two things:
- The way people watch sports has changed because of social media.
- Nobody's bothered to design a decent platform that's of any use to sports fans when games are actually on
We're no tech savants, but the idea of building this thing really inspires us. With the help and support of the brilliant people of the NDRC, we've spent the last three months tinkering with the idea, seeing what works and what doesn't and getting to a stage where we can push something into the world. At yesterday's Liftoff competition Balls came third among fifteen brilliant startups. We still can't believe it. It tells us that other people find this idea compelling as well. We hope to be rolling out the first iteration of this platform in early next 2013 in conjunction with one of the most tech progressive places in the Irish media.
More details will follow, but as ever, watch this space.
