Shortly after Zenit re-took the lead against Dundalk tonight, Patrick McEleney almost scored a sensational goal, chipping the ball onto the crossbar.
Kenny Cunningham, possibly employing some degree of hyperbole, said it would have been the best he'd ever seen.
Zenit have retaken the lead against Dundalk with just over ten minutes remaining after a messy six yard-box scramble which ended with Giuliano poking the ball into the net.
Giuliano had made a hash of the earlier chance but Rogers was wrongfooted and unable to grasp the ball promptly. The ball squirted back to the striker who had a second to compose himself before finishing.

In the last few minutes however, Dundalk have really frightened the Russians. McEleney almost scored a stunning equaliser, chipping the ball over the keeper. It came rebounding off the crossbar.
Had this dipped under the crossbar, it'd be talked about for decades and decades.
