We're barely into the action yet and already Sky Sports have bestowed many gifts upon the controversy hungry viewer.
It's the Ryder Cup so naturally they are infusing their coverage that mixture of absurd hyperbole and excessive solemnity.
This reached its zenith yesterday when Butch Harmon recommended that a private citizen be fired from their non-golf related job for writing a humourous article mocking American golf fans.
God bless him, Paul McGinley punctured that suffocating air of etiquette-obsessed solemnity this afternoon.
As a Justin Rose interview finished, they cut back to the studio in time to hear Paul McGinley muttering about our Transatlantic cousins.
It's difficult to make out, but he appears to be making a comment about the American WAGS.
@mcginleygolf I think your gonna get in trouble for saying this?? #RyderCup2016 @SkySportsGolf @ballsdotie pic.twitter.com/gQofstp7vt

It's not 100% clear but he appears to say that it looks like the American team are all married to the same girl.
We anticipate that Butch Harman will demand his resignation later this evening.
