The Wallabies have finally snapped their Bledisloe Cup losing streak, defeating the All Blacks 23-18 in a thriller at a rain-soaked game at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.
In a game that could have turned out to be a dead rubber but Australia had a little extra motivation, they would be donning a new indigenous kit for the very first time and instantly it had the desired effect, when six minutes in winger Reece Hodge latched onto a misplaced pass from All Blacks scrum-half Aaron Smith to run the length of the field and give the Wallabies an early lead.
Waisake Naholo touched down in the corner to level the game 7-7, but midway through the first half All Blacks captain Kieran Reid received the ball out on the right wing appearing to have no where to go, he deftly popped the ball back to Naholo to charge down the field into space, a truly outstanding piece of skill from the number 8.
The Wallabies were awarded a penalty from the resulting counter attack, Kurtley Beale took a quick penalty opting against a kick to touch, he passed to Will Genia who was unfortunately hammered by Naholo in bruising tackle.
The tackle didn't faze Genia, he was phenomenal in helping the Wallabies to a famous 23-18 victory.
