The Irish CP football team were soundly beaten by Great Britain this evening. They were trailing 4-0 after a poor first half.
And while they did grab a goal through substitute Conor Tuite, it was so late it nearly missed the wake. They went down 5-1.
During that second half, with frustration perhaps taking over, goalkeeper Brian McGillivary shunted Team GB striker Martin Hickman into the turf.
The dunt sent the earnest Hickman flying. But what really marks this shoulder charge out is McGillivary's absolute determination to land his man on his backside.
After all, the ball came past McGillivary. It would have far easier to pick it up. But he chose to let it dribble past him and he set about planting the opposing centre forward with a shoulder.
