A fairly typical world snooker championship for Ronnie O'Sullivan. He's careering past his first two opponents with a minimum of fuss but continues to flirt mischievously with controversy.
In the first round, he was on the verge of fined over briefly playing in his socks when the shoes provided for him proved uncomfortable. The selfless tournament director Mike Ganley gave Ronnie his shoes to enable the Rocket to complete the game in comfort.
And in the final frame last night he attracted censure from referee Olivier Marteel after an 'obscene gesture' following a missed black. Despite this, he went on to win the frame. He currently leads Matthew Stevens 12-4.
Another misdemeanour in this tournament will see him docked a frame.
Two years ago, he received a similar warning from Michaela Tabb. On that occasion he protested his innocence.
