Footage has been unearthed of UFC fighter Mike King speaking about the perils of performance enhancing drugs, prior to him testing positive for anabolic steroids.
The interview comes courtesy of KammakazeTV and took place during UFC Dublin media week, just days before his fight with Cathal Pendred. King failed a drug test after the fight and was suspended from competing for nine months.
This clip seems a bit ironic in retrospect. Especially when he talks about the substances that are "easy to get around" when it comes to testing. Not that easy, apparently!
King ultimately lost the fight after Pendred made a miraculously recovery and put him to sleep via rear-naked choke in the second round.
Both King and Pendred won $50,000 bonuses after the fight was deemed to be the Fight of the Night. King was forced to forfeit his bonus after failing a post-fight drug test, which the UFC then awarded to drug-free Pendred. The Irishman donated a portion of the money to a very worthy cause.
