The world tour continues and yesterday Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo stopped by the Fox Sports studio to trade yet more verbal barbs. MMA president Dana White was on hand to make sure things didn't get out of hand, something which the Brazilian's coach has been making noises about.
As with anytime McGregor talks, there's plenty to see in the interview, however, the part that really piqued our interest saw McGregor's trash-talking go so far that he even seemed to confuse Dana White.
Speaking about whether he deserved his shot at the featherweight belt, McGregor stated that, not only was he worth a shot, but that he was already a world champion. Given that Aldo has been the only featherweight to hold the UFC title, the Dubliner threw some jibes that Aldo was 'handed the belt' following the merger of the UFC and World Extreme Cagefighting.
Aldo was then asked about these suggestions at which point, White stepped in to say that McGregor had meant that Aldo was handed the belt earlier in the day. "I think he meant handed him the belt today".
Sorry Dana, we can't be 100% sure but it seems a lot more likely that McGregor meant what we all thought he meant.
