For the past seven years Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson has been running his very own Christmas toy giveaway. 12 kids hand selected by Child Protective Services stepped into Toys 'R' Us and were given the freedom of the store to grab as much as they desired in an allocated time. Johnson and 12 Houston cheerleaders helped the excited kids fill their trolleys in the 80 second time period.
Johnson's bill for the spree cost him a cool $17,352, just short of the $19,000 bill he footed last year.
His reasoning behind this generous gesture, 'It's fun for the kids and it's fun for me. It's something I enjoy seeing every year, so I figure why not keep doing it.'
Just shows these big bad NFL players are only softies underneath it all!
