At 12.55pm today, Tyson Fury announced his retirement from boxing via Twitter and in the process exhorted his many critics to "go suck a dick." As retirement sign-offs go, it wasn't quite in the mould of Robbie Keane's heartfelt offering from over a month ago.
Less than three hours later, Fury used the same forum to un-retire from boxing. He also took the opportunity to have a bizarre pop at the ancient Greek sorceress Medea.
Hahahaha u think you will get rid of the GYPSYKING that easy!!! I'm here to stay. #TheGreatest just shows u what the Medea are like. Tut tut

Medea's decision to kill her brother and then her children is one that has obviously attracted criticism but quite why Fury should choose to bring this up now is difficult to comprehend.
Nor can we understand how Fury's decision to retire and then un-retire reflects badly on Medea. The contested details of her biography contain quite enough trials and tribulations and missteps to be going on with. Speaking for ourselves, this Tyson Fury retirement farrago makes no difference to our perception of the woman and we have no trouble admitting that.
No doubt, were Medea still around, she would taken at face value Fury's earlier tweet that he was going to quit the business. But we don't believe she should feel any shame on that account.
