There's not too many people that would argue against the opinion that UFC Fight Night Dublin was a resounding success. Longterm MMA fans were delighted to get the show back to Ireland, while the sport picked up plenty of new converts along the way. In reality, dissenting voices were few and far between. Yet one such voice managed to stir up quite a bit of controversy. In the aftermath of Conor McGregor's first round victory, RTÉ commentator Tony O'Donoghue sent a tweet to McGregor, letting him know how that he was none too fond of MMA. Unsurprisingly McGregor's fans didn't take too well to that.
Well O'Donoghue has been given the opportunity to redeem himself. McGregor's coach, John Kavanagh, has extended the olive branch by inviting O'Donoghue down to SBG, the gym where McGregor honed his skills and it seems O'Donoghue might be ready to take him up on the offer.
