Over a dozen New York Jets players and members of the organisation have taken the opportunity to talk down the abilities of Tim Tebow in a news story published by the
New York Daily News.

Daily News writer Manish Mehta claims that "The prevailing thought in the organization is that Tebow is nothing more than a gimmick", and includes quotes from players who did not wished to be named such as "He's terrible" and "We don't look at him as a quarterback. He's the wildcat guy."

One player who did not mind being identified as a Tebow critic was left guard Matt Slauson, who declared his support for struggling starter Mark Sanchez as he said (speaking on the Jets QB competition) “It's not even close. All the other quarterbacks know it. I have all the confidence in Mark. We don’t really have a choice.”

Other notable quotes from the article came from unnamed defensive players as they stated; “We can’t win running that sh--”, “Now we’re depending on miracles? You can't play that way” and “You got to keep defenses honest. You just can’t line up in the Wildcat all the time. That won’t work.”

Considering Mark Sanchez currently holds a league low-pass completion rate of 52% and a league-high number of red-zone interceptions, the emergence of this article basically writing off Tebow as an option is all the more surprising. The New York Jets are currently sitting in 3rd place behind the Miami Dolphins in the AFC East Division with a record of 3-6. They face the St.Louis Rams this Sunday.
