The Sports Journalist Association awards took place tonight. Awards were divvied out in a range of categories.#
The blue riband award - Sports Journalist of the Year was won by Matt Lawton of the Daily Mail.
The football writer of the year went to the Guardian's Daniel Taylor (who spoke to us about his book 'I Believe in Miracles' on Nottingham Forest's absurd rise in the late 1970s), while Feature writer of the year went to David Walsh of the Sunday Times.
Commentator of the year was handed to Martin Tyler, with Clive Tylesdley and John Hunt (Radio 5 Live horse racing announcer).
The photos of the year produced some beauts, notably this phenomenal effort from Carl Recine of Action Images. This picture won Recine the Sports Picture of the Year gong.
