Ireland has won its first medal of the Rio Olympics as the already legendary O'Donovan brothers took silver in the Men's Lightweight Double Sculls.
Myles Dungan spent much of the race talking about camera angles but it was clear from the overhead that they traveled from fourth up to the second as the race progressed. With 500 metres left, they upped it and very nearly caught the French at the end.
'We're going to go home now because Mick Conlan said he's box the head off us if we didn't get the gold', was Paul O'Donovan's original reaction.
Paul O'Donovan: "We're going to go home now because @mickconlan11 said he'd box the heads off us if we didn't win gold!"
