Nike produced a storm last week when they released their new 'Just Do It' ad campaign, with NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick as the centrepiece.
The decision to include Kaepernick has been met with an outpour of both support and anger. The debate continues to rage over the former 49ers player's decision to protest discrimination against people of colour in his country by kneeling during the national anthem, with some NFL players continuing to follow Kaepernick's influence during the opening NFL games of the season.
