The latest installation of Rockstar North's Grand Theft Auto series is set to be the most all-encompassing yet, with a range of activities that almost eradicate the need for any other game. With the imminent release of GTA V, we've decided to take a look back at some of the best GTA sports moments, as well as ahead at some of the new activities.
Stadium events
Racing has always been part of GTA but the arena events in Vice City and San Andreas offered something new. The race tracks, dirt rings and demolition derbies could all be be frustrating but you'd get there in the end.
Basketball
Disappointingly you could only play basketball solo in San Andreas but watching CJ spin the ball on his finger or perform a slam dunk was pretty cool when the game came out. Just don't play in rival gang territory if you don't want to be interrupted by being shot at. And watch out for innocent bystanders.
Beat the Cock!
Two San Andreas triathlons in which one of your competitors was wearing a Cluckin' Bell chicken outfit. The race could be pretty exerting for the player, as you had to continually bash the sprint button.
Pool
Desperate for cash at the start of San Andreas? Consider betting on a game of pool. Impossible to be good at but you get to keep the cue afterwards. And there were ways of making it easier.
Darts
GTA IV saw the introduction of 301 darts in a couple of bars. Perhaps the opponents should have taken more time over their shots. They could be rather erratic.
Bowling
Take a trip down Memory Lanes for a spot of bowling. As with most places in GTA, even if you're not there for a game, there's still plenty of fun to be had.
Golf
Need somewhere to unwind after a hard day of drive-bys and police chases? Why not relax with a nice round of golf.
Tennis
...Or if you're looking for something a bit more active, how about some tennis (alternatively, you could walk outside into the real world).

Yoga
Guys around the world might be taking up yoga after seeing these positions. Rockstar appear to have bypassed the nonsense spirituality side and discovered it's true purpose.

...And who knows what else
GTA always contains lots of surprises and secrets so there's sure to be plenty more to see and do.
