Uefa have finally gotten rid of the rule that saw Roy Keane miss the 1999 Champions League final after he picked up his second yellow card of the knockout stages when he was booked in the second leg of the semi final against Juventus.

The rule – which was also the cause of Xabi Alonso missing this year's final – has now been altered so that all yellow cards, up to and including the quarter-finals, are wiped out come the semi-final stage.

Obviously a player gets booked in both legs of the semi-final then they'll miss out on the final but while the new rule is too late for Keane, finally justice has been done! ... Kind of.
