27 year old Odin Lloyd was killed in June 2013. Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was convicted of first degree murder today. He has received a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole. Rolling Stone have already delved into the background of Hernandez in an article that's well worth a read today.
Hernandez played tight end in the 2012 Super Bowl in which New England surprisingly lost to the New York Giants. His fellow tight end on the Patriots team that night was Rob Gronkowski.
Teammates back then, it's rather amazing to think of the different lives that Gronkowski and Hernandez are facing into now.
Since the Patriots scooped the Super Bowl in February, 2015 has become the summer of Gronk (admittedly, it isn't summer). He has enjoyed a non-stop party since winning the Super Bowl, swinging from party to nightclub to music festival to party to nightclub... His Johnny Bravo like subtlety in approaching women is particularly admired.
