No great surprise as Stephen Kenny has been named the Philips Manager of the Year. He is the third manager of the League of Ireland club to be honoured with the award.
He was named the winner at the ceremony this afternoon. Dundalk's European journey and resulting prolonged season prevented him from collecting in person. He is currently in the beginning of a press conference in Tel Aviv. His wife Siobhan picked up the award.

I wasn’t really expecting it to be honest with you. I genuinely mean that. I didn’t even know if I’d get a monthly award.
It’s a great honour to receive it. Some great people have been nominated for the Manager of the Month awards, they have all had terrific years and in an international context too. It’s difficult to decide between sports.
I’m receiving this on behalf of Dundalk and the players. It’s a collective effort. I do appreciate all of the work that everyone does at the club. It’s good for football and for Dundalk and the domestic game.
Previous LOI managers who've won the award are Jim McLoughlin (1986) and Paul Doolin who won the award for winning the League with Drogheda United (2007).
Last year the award was cheered between the O'Neill's, Martin and Michael. Past winners have been drawn from GAA, soccer, rugby, horse racing and... golf and formula 1.
Eddie Jordan was honoured with the award back in 1994 as Jordan Motor Racing shot up the constructors table. Brendan Edwards, the former captain of the Irish amateur golf team won in the second year of the award in 1983.
