The Lions looked to be taking a deserved lead into half time against the Blues at Eden Park.

A CJ Stander try and Leigh Halfpenny penalty got the Lions back into the lead after the Blues took an early lead through a Rieko Ioane try.

With the Lions leading 10-5, the Blues rookie out-half Stephen Perofeta had a kick at the end of the half which would have moved the Lions to within two points. Instead, it finished with the Blues taking the lead.

Perofeta's penalty came off the post, bouncing five metres from the line. Blues players reacted quickly with Sonny Bill Williams touching down.

There was controversy about the decision as it certainly appeared that a Blues hand knocked on the ball before Williams touched down.
