There was a surname synonymous with Irish athletics on the programme for the women's 800m B race at the Morton Games in Santry on Wednesday evening.
15-year-old Sophie O'Sullivan, daughter of Sonia O'Sullivan, was among those lining up for the race.
After taking the bell in fourth, Sophie O'Sullivan took control of the race on the back straight and stormed to victory in 2:11.13
Earlier this year, Sophie was crowned Australia U17 champion at both the 800m and 1500m. The apple has not fallen far from the tree.
After the race, speaking on the Morton Games' live YouTube coverage of the meeting, Sonia O'Sullivan was happy to see that her daughter had enjoyed herself.
I was just sitting up there having my tea. I'm not nervous. I just want her to enjoy it.
You can get nervous in a funny sort of way because you just want them to get through it and be happy and enjoy it is the main thing.
I don't really think about times or anything like that. You just want to see a good race and for them to be happy when they're finished.
You can watch the final straight of the race below.
