You know what I miss? The good old days of wrestling. When the Hardy Boyz were flying high, Kurt Angle was one of the main attractions and Shane McMahon was doing batshit crazy things. Oh wait...
Yes, not much has changed over the last 17 years in the world of WWE and last night was proof of that as the owner's son once again jumped off Hell in a Cell. Shane O'Mac returned to the ring for the first time since Wrestlemania in order to defend his family's honour against the scoundrel that is Kevin Owens.
Owens had been fueding with Shane over the last month or so but made it very very personal when he savagely attacked Vince on Smackdown. So going into their match last night we all expected fireworks and fireworks is what we got.
First off, the pair fought on the side of the cell, with Shane beating Owens so badly that he fell off and dropped 10 feet through a table. 'My Gawd, man who replaced JR!'
All Shane had to do was pin Owens but of course he didn't. He wanted to beat the poor man within in an inch of his life. He lifted Owens onto the other announce table and quickly ascended to the top of the cell once more. Some crazy shit was clearly about to do down.
Two years ago, McMahon jumped off the cell at Wrestlemania only to have Undertaker roll off the announce table at the last possible second. Would he be able to take out his opponent this time around?

Nope.
This time his cell jump was foiled by one Sami Zayn. 'Who the fuck is Sami Zayn?' you ask. Well Zayn was best friends with Owens before Kev started acting the prick and the pair have been fighting each other ever since. But now it seems that water is indeed thicker than ... other water ... as Zayn inexplicably came to the aid of his former BBF.
Only in WWE does a guy setting up Syrian mobile clinics become a villain by stopping the son of a Trump cabinet member from murder. #HIAC

Seriously though, when McMahon last jumped off the cell against Taker at least you could see there was a massive bean bag hidden in the table to save him from the impact. This time around he just seemed to bounce upon landing and it looked legitimately painful. The man is 47 years old for Christ's sake! A statement on WWE.com hints at multiple injuries, but obviously this could be bollox.
A preliminary report has determined that Shane may be dealing with multiple injuries, including neck trauma, fractured ribs and a dislocated shoulder.
While nothing has been confirmed at this time, WWE.com will continue to monitor Shane’s condition.
Why did Zayn do it? Will Shane McMahon ever have a match that doesn't end with him in a neck brace? Only time and the WWE script writers can tell.
