Ireland supporters will remember what it is like to witness San Marino scoring a goal. We were rather too preoccupied with our own travails to soak up their giddy joy at that time.
But tonight, we should be able to appreciate their infectious excitement at scoring in Norway.
Norway have fallen mightily since the days when they were ranked 2nd in the world Egil Olson.
San Marino's highest world ranking thus far has been 118th, achieved in late 1993 when there was less members of FIFA. This was around the time Davide Gualtieri put them 1-0 up against England.
They have won match in their history - a 1-0 win over Liechtenstein in a friendly in 2004. In 60 qualifier matches, they have 58 matches and drawn the other two.
Well, tonight, they equalised against Norway on the 53rd minute. It was only their 22nd goal in international football and these guys ain't shy about celebrating such things.
