Back when Gaybo was presenting the Toy Show, we don't remember it being this parade of celebrities and superstars.
Jamie Heaslip was on earlier. As soon as 9-year old Charlie Smyth from Cavan started talking about his love of Rory McIlroy, we knew it was only a matter of seconds before the man from Hollywood stepped out from the wings into the glare of the cameras.
McIlroy is a veteran of child-adult interviews going back to his own days as a child when he worked with two broadcasting legends, Gerry Kelly and Philip Walton.
Charlie was a dab hand at reeling off Rory's list of accomplishments. We may well have seen the first ever referencing of the FedEx Cup in the history of the Late Late Toy Show.
When Rory came out, he told Charlie to stick at the golf and gave him a couple of Rory McIlroy PGA Tour games.
Afterwards, the crowd were offered tickets to the Irish Open last year though, in truth, they didn't look like golf people.
