Prince Naseem Hamed finds little to excite him in boxing these days. He is distressed by the lack of the 'characters' in the sport.
For characters, he has turn his gaze to the UFC and to these shores.
One thing that has irritated me in the sport of boxing since I stopped is I'm really surprised that no one has come along to excite me like me.
I thought I would have seen a character come through in boxing.
The only character I have seen come through isn't a boxer, is Conor McGregor, the UFC fighter from Ireland. He's absolutely brilliant.
Hamed can't shut up about McGregor. Six months ago, he declared our Conor (not the sadly deceased horse) as the most 'entertaining man in combat sport.'
Modest to a fault, Hamed credited himself with inspiring McGregor's persona, noting their shared boxing past.
