Aaron Hernandez's house was searched by police last night for two hours in connection with a possible homicide. A jogger found the body of a 27-year-old Boston man on Monday less than a mile from the home of the New England Patriots tight-end and a car rented in Hernandez's name has been identified as a key piece of evidence in the police investigation into his death.
Despite this, Sports Illustrated reported that the former Florida Gators star is not considered a murder suspect. Last night in a pretty dramatic scene, up to ten police cars surrounded Hernandez's home before investigators entered. Two men, believed to be uncles of Hernandez's fiancee, left with police.
Hernandez since being drafted in 2010 has combined with Rob Gronkowski to give the Patriots a rare dynamic duo of tight-ends. He was rewarded for his outstanding performances with a $40 million contract over five years just before the start of the 2012 season.
