Brilliant news from Limerick this morning as its been confirmed that 19-year-old Limerick FC centre back Paudie O'Connor was signed by Leeds to a contract that will keep him at the club until the end of 2019-2020 season.
O'Connor broke through in the Limerick senior team before he'd even completed his Leaving Cert and helped steer the club to promotion to the League of Ireland Premier League last season.
He left the following message to Limerick supporters on Twitter yesterday.

Limerick manager Martin Russell told the Irish Mirror that a number of English clubs were interested in signing O'Connor but he ultimately opted to head to Elland Road.
"There were a few clubs interested in Paudie but in the end Leeds liked what they saw and the clubs have agreed compensation. We'll be watching how he gets on there."
Leeds are currently fourth in the Championship and on course for the promotion playoffs. All going well, O'Connor could find himself playing in the Premier League next season.
O'Connor's Twitter bio is 'Win or Learn', which is also the name of the John Kavanagh autobiography.
He will also, we believe, become the first Paudie to play league football.
