It's been widely reported this morning that disgraced LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling is suffering from prostate cancer but it seems the story was originally broken by the New York Post last night.
Now we all accept that Sterling's racist remarks were abhorrent and deserving of his life time ban from the NBA and $2.5m fine. However, the opening line of the NY Post's story about his battle with cancer is nothing short of outrageous and their second line is almost as bad:
This could wind up being a pretty short ban.
Disgraced racist Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling is battling cancer — surprising those around him by beating the final buzzer for as long as he has, sources told The Post on Thursday.
Clippers' power forward Blake Griffin gave a more measured reaction when speaking to ESPN, saying 'If that is true, my thoughts and prayers are with him. Nobody deserves to go through something like that.'
