Mercedes have released their new Formula One car ahead of the 2021 season. Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas will be aiming to take home the Drivers' and Constructors' Championships for another year.
The new 'W12' car released today features a prominently black design as introduced last year to promote diversity and global racism. This year's car will feature "considerable aerodynamic changes", as well as improvements to suspension and overall power.
2021 will mark Hamilton's ninth season in a Mercedes car, as he aims to surpass a record shared with Michael Schumacher of seven Drivers' Championships.
Today @MercedesAMGF1 launched their 2021 Formula 1 car. I truly love the design and I can’t wait see it on track!😎🔥

One month previous, Hamilton signed a one-year deal to remain at the team for this season. He spoke about his commitment to Mercedes and his F1 future at the 'W12' launch.
I've achieved most of the stuff that I've wanted to achieve up until this point, so there's no real need necessarily to plan too far ahead into the future. We live in quite an unusual period of time in life and I just wanted one year. Then we can talk about if we do more.
A lot of the focus for Hamilton last season was being a voice in the fight against racial injustice, and striving for equality for black people. He's still as focused as ever on that front, and hope's to provide more of a platform to these issues in 2021.
Last year there was a lot of discussion about equality and inclusion and there was a lot of talk. This year it's about pushing for diversity and really making sure that action is taken. So that's kind of at the core at the drive for me.
The competitive spirit of Hamilton has not gone away. After all, Mercedes have done the double for a record seven years in a row, so expectations will be high to see if they can replicate it with an eight.
Of course, we exist to win. That's what all these guys and girls here at working towards so that's my goal to deliver for them.
