Nate Diaz is not one to bite his lip. If he has an issue with something, or someone, then he'll call you out on it, and typically he'll mercilessly take the piss out of you for all the World to see.
During a recent interview with Ariel Helwani for The MMA Hour, Nate was asked how he feels when he sees guys like Conor McGregor pulling stunts like stealing Jose Aldo's belt for the entertainment of his Dublin fans, and the younger Diaz let everybody know how he would have handled the situation if he was in Aldo's camp:
His (Aldo's) team is fucking up.
Because let me tell you something, if I had Conor fighting somebody like that, and they were going to make sure one of the guys gets up in your face, you smack his ass to the floor. You know what I'm saying? You don't let somebody do that. Or just laugh at him. Like, [Aldo] got all bent out of shape when the guy took his belt. He should've just laughed at him, been like, ‘Keep the belt. This ain't about the belt. It's about your ass whooping.' I would've let him have it. Take that home and put it on.
But hey, Conor McGregor, he's doing his thing. He's doing a good job of that and I'm not hating on him. I think he's doing a great job marketing himself. Everybody's forgotten who the champ is already because it's the McGregor show."
Nate Diaz, available for career and management advice it would seem.
Really, we just can't wait until the pre-fight hype for his upcoming fight with Matt Brown starts up, which not so co-incidentally is on the UFC 189 card along with McGregor and Aldo. What a night that is going to be.
