I witnessed the future of Basketball last night at the Air Canada Centre in downtown Toronto. Two of the National Basketball Associations worst teams playing infront of quite a large and energetic Sunday evening crowd. No one was asking any questions because everyone knew, the Blake Griffin show had pulled into town.
Griffin didn't hit a double double, he wasn't at his stunning best but he did finish off an alley oop which I watched via my iphone having been forced by the Balls.ie oil magnate owner to "come back with some gold".
Watch closely for the red jersey hanging from the basket at the end, after an interception.
Griffin finished on the losing side with 21 points and 15 rebounds, not a shabby haul by any means, but i was hoping for an extended loop of the human highlight reel that is Blake Griffin. Instead I got to see the future of basketball in his maiden season, in a matchup between the West Hams and Blackburn Rovers of the NBA, sometimes thems the breaks.
