Unsurprisingly, Conor McGregor has made some rather big claims in his latest interview ahead of his featherweight championship fight with Jose Aldo. He was asked about how much he expects to earn and the Dubliner wasn't sure that he will walk away with an absolutely enormous purse. He says he will earn "more than the gate" which Dana White predicts is going to be 7 million.
I will make a hell of a lot of money. I am pay per view now I am on the pay per view cut. I will make three times more than Jose, and that's still not fair.
When asked, he refused to dispute that Ronda Rousey is the biggest draw in the UFC, but he did claim that his upcoming Pay Per View was going to at least triple what her last event did and that it was going to easily break the 1 million buys barrier. He was then asked would it break the UFC 100 record (of 1.6 million buys) to which he replied:
I believe so, I believe it breaks all records. Everything I do smashes records. The embedded series has smashed records, the most viewed embedded series. Anything I touch turns to gold.
