It's looking like a match might happen between Heineken Cup winners Toulon and whichever team wins the Super 15 (Brumbies, Chiefs, Crusaders or Bulls).
Toulon's president Mourad Boudjellal seems to the driver behind the proposal, telling French newspaper Sud Ouest that he hopes to make an announcement this Thursday regarding the 'World Cup of Clubs'.
We've mustered up all our Leaving Cert French knowledge to try translate what he said in the interview, 'I filed the name 'World Cup of Rugby Clubs' with the INPI [French Nation Industrial Property Institute] ... We will try create this match on an economical model that will benefit both clubs.'
Sounds like an exciting prospect, and hopefully if it happens once then it might become an annual fixture. You can read Boudjellal's full interview here – if your French is up to scratch that is.
