The Jeff Drench Memorial 5k may not the most fashionable or attractive of sporting events but the story around this photo is pretty inspiring. The race took place last Saturday and 19-year-old marine Myles Kerr was taking part, donning his boots and ruck sack. He was running with fellow marines – and hoping to beat them no doubt – but they became worried when he failed to show up at the finish line.
After even more time passed they decided to go look for him but, low and behold, they spotted him coming around the final corner, running alongside a young boy. It turns out the boy had lagged behind the group he'd be running with and was on the verge of quitting the race before asking Myles Kerr 'Will you please run with me?'
Kerr ran alongside the young fella for the remainder of the race, urging him on and keeping him motivated until the crossed the finish line together. This photo of the pair was shared on the Seal of Honor Facebook page, and has so far gotten 208,255 likes and 46,039 shares.
