Hole-in-ones are rare. Last season on the European Tour there were only 40 of them.
What's even rarer is an ace that goes straight into the hole, without even touching the ground. That's what happened Marcel Siem on Saturday at the European Open in Hamburg.
The German, who last won on the European Tour in 2014, hit the improbable hole-in-one on the 17th hole at the Green Eagle GC.
To make it even more fulfilling, Siem won himself a €150,000 Porsche for acing the par-3.

Understandably, Marcel Siem wanted to know all about his new car, when he was presented with the keys by a Porsche representative.
"Is that the @Porsche with the biggest engine?"
Yes Marcel, 550 horsepower to be precise 💨💨💨 pic.twitter.com/BEzAVDN1dz— DP World Tour (@DPWorldTour) July 29, 2017
Despite his terrific 7-iron, Siem still has a lot of work to do to win the tournament. He's nine shots behind leader Jordan Smith, in a tie for 38th place.
