It could have been so different though. In 2013, Manchester United were close to buying the attacker, but were turned off him for an outlandish reason - the size of his head.

According to ESPN, United sent a scout to Spain to watch the-then Malaga starlet.

The player was watched several times, before the report was filed back that he wasn't considered good enough to move to Manchester United.

"He's good, but not quite quick enough and his head is too big for his body," was the verdict on the then 21-year-old playmaker.

After last night's game in Macedonia, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho showered praise on Isco. Only for Alex Ferguson's scouting network, he could have been lining out in the red of United against Real Madrid.
