Lord Mayor of Dublin Christy Burke has told Morning Ireland this morning that he will be making contact with Nick Fury, the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. in an effort to see if the Avengers will assemble to mediate in the ongoing Garth Brooks Croke Park saga.
After already seeking the help from Barack Obama and the Mexican ambassador to Ireland (no seriously!), Burke said that Ireland is left with no option but to turn to Tony Stark and his motley crew.
'This whole fiasco, it's like a funeral with no corpse or ham sandwiches,' said Burke.
It's a terrible situation and I only hope that it's not too late to ask Hawkeye – who has been living in Croke Park for the last two years – to bring his friends together and sort the whole thing out.
While Black Widow will never turn down the opportunity to attend a funeral, RTÉ Morning Ireland presenter Fran McNulty remained skeptical about the possibility of Thor making it to earth in time for the deadline of July 15, and is unsure if the big man would be welcome back in Croke Park after hitting Diarmuid 'The Rock' O'Sullivan with a hammer during his last visit, seven years ago.
Lord Mayor Burke did however state that while he's hopeful all of the Avengers could assemble in time, he wouldn't be too upset if Captain America didn't make it because 'he's shite anyway.'
