Where to start with this one? Monday night saw game three of the best-of-five American League Division Series between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Boston Red Sox. Boston came into the game with a 2-0 series lead, so it was a must win game for the Rays.

With the game tied at 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Rays catcher Jose Lobaton hit the game-winning, or "walk-off", home-run. Now because this happened in America, and because Tampa Bay are called the Rays, they keep an aquarium of rays in the stadium. And Lobaton's home run ball went sailing into it, via a fan's outstretched hand.

Meanwhile, Lobaton was rewarded with an ice-cream cone, which he says is his motivation for producing big hits.

There was also a rumour that a Red Sox fan got their own back by taking a ray out of the aquarium and throwing it but this does not seem to have happened.
