The grand master of Sky Plus George Hook is probably wishing he could rewind back a few months and stop himself putting pen to paper on an exclusive - "George Hook Cruise"
American Holidays got on board with Hook to follow in the footsteps of his right wing US Radio shock jock - Michael Graham who does something similar.
The pitch was this
Listen to George give seminars on 'How to Beat the Recession' and 'Irish Rugby to the World Cup 2011' as well as enjoying his usual craic and repartee while cruising around the Mediterranean!
Full-board prices, inclusive of flights, start from €1169/£1052 but PLACES ARE LIMITED!
Well the places have become seriously limited, the Irish Mail On Sunday reported this morning that the cruise has been cancelled due to lack of interest. Oh how this must hurt a man's ego, listeners of The Right Hook can expect smaller helpings of George's "usual craic and repartee" in the next wee while. The poor unfortunate even appealed on twitter earlier in the summer, to avert this disaster.
Anybody want to come with me on The Right Hook Caribbean cruise in October??
The whole episode gets even murkier after Eamon Dunphy covered the whole debacle on his Newstalk Sunday morning show.. take a listen
