Fans of YouTube street-fight videos rejoice, Kimbo Slice is back.
Belltor MMA have announced that their recent signing is set to make his promotional debut on Saturday, June 20 when he takes on MMA legend Ken Shamrock.
For those who don't know, this fight was supposed to happen back in 2008, but Shamrock had to withdraw just 24 hours before due to a cut. Kimbo was then knocked out by his opponent who took the fight on just a day's notice, but he came back into the spotlight when he appeared on The Ultimate Fighter, and subsequently fought two times in the UFC.
In the five years since Kimbo Slice left the MMA scene he has won seven consecutive boxing matches, and now the 41 year old YouTube sensation wants to make a comeback. Ken Shamrock will be his opponent, and at 51 years of age will make this one of the oldest fights in MMA history. Shamrock had been slated to compete in a bare-knuckle boxing fight with James Quinn McDonagh, but as he is now signed with Bellator, the future of that fight remains unclear.
We await news of the Shamrock/Quinn McDonagh fight with bated breath.
