In a statement today, the UCI announced that they wouldn't actually be bringing that case against Paul Kimmage in December in Switzerland after all:
"While continuing strongly to maintain the merits of UCI’s case, the Committee decided to seek to suspend the UCI legal action against journalist Paul Kimmage, pending the findings of the independent Commission.
“UCI President Pat McQuaid and Honorary President Hein Verbruggen who are individual parties to the case will similarly seek to put their cases on hold.”
All I have to say is this: I want to play Pat McQuaid in poker someday. Three months ago, Paul Kimmage was an unemployed journalist ghostwriting rugby lpayer biog's. Thanks to this case (and release of the USADA findings against Armstrong), it's McQuaid who's been put on. Any thoughts of Kimmage going quietly into the night were mooted immediately.
How do I feel? I feel like Maximus as he prepared for battle.
