Jose Aldo spoke at a fans Q&A in Brazil yesterday and the UFC featherweight champion told the audience that he'd quite like to face Conor McGregor:
"I hope he’s next because it would be a huge fight, he’s a tough fighter, but we haven’t seen him against a top five. He’s not ready, but the promotion he does is good. He’s a good athlete. He talks a lot. If he doesn’t talk that much, he wouldn’t be where he is today."
That's about as subtle as a sledgehammer. Aldo continued to list off possible contenders:
"I see Chad as the best of them, If you put Edgar, Conor or Lamas, he beats all of them on the same night."
This fight feels inevitable and Aldo's assessment of McGregor as a mere promotional vehicle will be put to the test.
