Well that is much more like it.
Martin O'Neill named a much stronger side to face Uruguay than the one that got outplayed by Mexico, and there was a noticeable improvement as Ireland took the game to their visitors early on at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday.
Jon Walters was named captain on the day in a move that brought a smile to the face of many an Ireland fan, but it got even better as the deadlock was broken just after the 25 minute mark.
Ireland were pushing forward, and after a bit of confusion between Walters and Glenn Whelan at the edge of the area, big Jon just decided to try and curl one into the top corner...
It was a good decision.

What a goal! He's developed a knack for scoring scrappy, but important goals, throughout his Ireland career, but that will be up with the best of them comfortably.
A team that's better than us not really being up for it, Ireland playing like the result actually matters... This is what friendlies used to feel like!
A good start at the Aviva for Martin O'Neill's men.
