UFC 187 was looking likely to be one of the organisation's most high profile cards for quite some time. Two title fights as co-main events, one of which is/was Jon Jones vs Anthony Johnson for the Light Heavyweight championship. However, that bout has been thrown into doubt after Jones was named as a suspect in an alleged hit and run incident in Albuquerque last night.
Rumours began circling that Jones' involvement in UFC 187 was far from certain due to some unidentified legal trouble. The nature of that trouble soon transpired after the Albuquerque police confirmed that they are looking for Jones in relation to a hit and run incident involving a car driven by a pregnant female in her 20s.
We can now confirm that we are looking for UFC fighter Jon Jones for questioning stemming from a H&R this morning. http://t.co/kPKyB5xk5X

A statement from Albuquerque Police stated;
The Albuquerque Police Department is actively seeking UFC Fighter Jon Jones for questioning in regards to his possible involvement in a hit-and-run accident, near the intersection of Juan Tabo and Southern, in Southeast Albuquerque early this morning, April 26, 2015.
A pregnant female in her 20s, who was the driver of a separate vehicle, was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.
Officers attempted to contact Mr. Jones at his residence Sunday evening, but were unsuccessful. We have also reached out to his lawyer, but as of now, have not heard back.
Understandably this has led many to question whether Jones vs Johnson would be going ahead in less than a month's time. Dana White has refused to either confirm or deny rumours that the main event at UFC 187 is in doubt. However, the UFC have since released a statement which has acknowledged Jones's possible involvement but refused to speculate any further until all the facts are available.
We are aware that the Albuquerque Police Department is interested in speaking to Jon Jones regarding his possible involvement in a motor vehicle accident. We are in the process of gathering facts and will reserve further comment until more information is available.
