The NFL returned to Sunday evenings, as the new season got properly underway Stateside.
Despite the opening match being played on Thursday, it fully began yesterday, with 12 games taking place.
One of the most high-profile games of the opening weekend is took place in Houston, as the Texans hosted Jacksonville Jaguars in a Week 1 clash.
Recently battered by Hurricane Harvey, the city is still in recovery mode but the Texans team has been one of the many bright lights of the recovery mission. Players have actively helped in trying to help communities, but none more so than JJ Watt.
Watt tried to raise $200,000 to help the city, but his fundraising has taken on a life of its own. The original target was surpassed within hours and has continued to increase. As of Sunday evening, more than $31million was raised for the city.
Watt was given an understandable standing ovation by those in the Houston crowd on Sunday evening, before the team's season-opener against the Jaguars.

Watt's appearance was his first for nearly a year. He only played three games last season due to a career-threatening back injury.
Despite an emotional evening in Houston, the opening match did not go to plan for the Texans. They lost 29-7 in one of the most surprising results of the opening weekend.
