One word perfectly captures the first half of Ireland v Wales: cagey. There were few memorable moments of actual football played so perhaps the most interesting thing to occur was the debut of an Irish brass band. Fans at the Aviva were treated to brass band renditions of 'Stand Up For The Boys In Green' and 'Ole'.
The bum note at the end of 'Stand Up' will live forever in the memory of all Irish fans present on this massive evening for Irish football.
It was an interesting debut considering that the FAI banned the famed Welsh brass band The Barry Horns from performing at the Aviva tonight.
So it's a band of approx 7/8 brass & percussion, stood in front of singing section & mic'd up to PA system

Who let the fucking English band in? #IRLWAL

Also disappointingly it seems the Irish fans now have some sort of band. Won't be in any rush to head back to the Aviva if that persists..

Initially, it was largely Wales fans on Twitter airing their frustrations at the sound of the Irish brass band.
The Irish band is utter rubbish. Worse than that English lot. Bring on the Barry Horns at half time. #IRLWAL #barryhorns

Surprised that the Irish band's instruments are not as lethal as those of the @thebarryhorns in this #IRLWAL game - why is that @FAIreland?
— GEMSport (@GEMSportNews) March 24, 2017
Absolutel bollocks from the @FAIreland for their excuse not letting in @thebarryhorns instruments ! Listen to the Irish band..It's shit !
— Chris Peplow 🏴 (@chris2803) March 24, 2017
@thebarryhorns were banned so they didn't make the Irish band sound even worse than they are.

Think the Irish FA banned the wrong band #IRLWAL
— sam (@TwmbarlwmSam) March 24, 2017
We thought the England band were annoying.... the Irish mic theirs up! 🙉 #ROIvWAL
— Grange Hill (@grang3hill) March 24, 2017
There really wasn't any point in @thebarryhorns going to the game, no one could hear them over the shit Irish band playing over the tannoy 😂
— Jack Evans (@Jevski7) March 24, 2017
But after the brass band's second half performance, Irish fans began to rage in unison.
Sonia from Eastenders was better on the trumpet than this prick #ireland/wales

Easily the most unpopular Irish trumpet player since Joey the Lips rode Imelda Quirke
— ConorMcKeon (@ConorMcKn) March 24, 2017
I am going to shove that trumpet up someone's arse sweet Jesus. #COYBIG
