The Irish rugby squad has been named for the game against New Zealand in Soldier Field, Chicago next week. Joe Schmidt had originally selected a squad of 40 for the November tour. This has been whittled down to a 27 man squad for the New Zealand game.
Of the six uncapped players who made the 40 man team, Joey Carbery, Garry Ringrose, Billy Holland, John Ryan and Luke McGrath have made the cut. Only James Tracy misses out.
The IRFU inform us that Paddy Jackson will not make the trip for personal reasons. Sean O'Brien, Peter O'Mahony and Iain Henderson are only returning to full fitness and will not head out either.
Here's the 27 selected.
