Heavy rain last night caused serious flooding at Letterkenny hospital which resulted in the temporary closure of its emergency department. After a few hours of cleaning up by the fire brigade, the department was re-opened. However, an investigation into the cause of the flood has begun as this is the second time the hospital has experienced severe flooding in twelve months.
